In this time of nursing shortage, the need for licensed healthcare professionals has become of paramount importance.  Health care institutions have resorted to recruiting nurses from abroad to fill the growing vacancy rate in area hospitals.  This has become a nationwide trend.  It is projected that the nursing shortage will continue and worsen through the year 2010.  The average age of nurses is 45 or greater.  As seasoned nurses retire, and nursing schools struggle to hire qualified professionals, the quality of nursing care is at risk.

Two nurses are making an effort to improve the passing rates of nursing students allowing for increased availability of licensed personnel in the New York area. Ready to Pass Inc. was formed to provide a quality nursing review in preparation for the state licensing examination. We believe students must understand the basis and foundation of illness prevention and wellness promotion to succeed.  In addition, a thorough grasp of pathophysiology and test taking techniques are provided throughout the 40 hour class. This is an interactive class in which students are motivated to employ critical thinking skills. The new test format is incorporated utilizing the NCLEX content areas. These areas include and are not limited to: health promotion, management of care, infection control, safety, pharmacology, growth and development, psychological integrity, and physiological integrity. 

Rhonda Gumbs-Savain RN, MSN, Certified Teacher, President and Founder, is a 20 year veteran in the field of nursing.  Her partner, Derrice Jordan RN, MSN, FNP, Vice President, has 22 years of experience under her belt. They both started careers in high school LPN programs and continued their education to achieve Bachelor of Science degrees, Masters of Science degrees and post graduate education.  As adjunct college instructors, they enjoy mentoring up-and-coming nurses.

Ready to Pass Inc. is an innovative and growing business.  Rhonda and Derrice aspire to expand beyond New York and continue to touch nurses.  By spreading their knowledge, they attempt to make a difference in our ailing society.
